The Device

Our Mission
There have been some misconceptions about the development of the device. Our mission has remained the same. What we do is for the good of our users. When the first prototype of Wundt’s TMS was sent out, many were hesitant to try it. Fearful of what it may do to them. Millions of units later and the fear has quieted to a whisper.

I led the first trials at our facility in Detroit to almost a 100% success. But prominent men aren’t judged by their successes as much as their failures. We lost a few patients, and we settled with those patient's families. Our achievements there, of course, after the tragedies were astounding. The shocks emitting from these devices revolutionized the world in 2035.
The device became a substitute for the signals sent to the brain. Devices to help us in our daily lives started with hearing devices and replacement limbs, but only Wundt Industries dared to respond to one of the body’s most complex organs. The targeted shocks activated a space in the brain where we could install a neuro-network and build in our own responses. The benefits always outweighed the risks and if we never took the risks, then we would've never changed the world.

Our Vision
The goal of TMS has always been clear, but our vision shifted with each fresh development. Our bodies know when they're in danger and know how to react to when in peril. Pain teaches us more than anything when building those reactions. Dangerous magnetic shocks to condition the brain were not my initial vision. The built-in responses to react like a reflex when the mind was in danger, however, were. Those painful but beneficial shocks led TMS to not only act as a mood modifier, but to enable it to act as a secondary to a user’s brain. I dislike the term “brain modder”, but the modification made by my system allowed for people to become more successful, live life fuller, and make the rational decisions that society demands of us.
I’ve been called a mad scientist akin to Victor Frankenstein for this vision. I can thank Mr. Brent Davies for that comparison from the so-called Liberators podcast. I honestly enjoy the name the more I hear it because if Victor Frankenstein didn’t push back against death, then no one would ever think it possible. Wundt Industries and I pushed the limits of human evolution, and we are planning to do it again. Our government is with us, our loyal users are with us, and in due time everyone will feel the same way too.
