A BLACK CAT’S RABBIT’S FOOT is a collection of diverse short stories that feature Black characters being challenged by chance. The stories range from comedies to thrillers, with each offering a play on the theme of creating your own luck.
“Water from the Well” is a comedy about Jaylon, a young boy with a full bladder, on his difficult walk to his first baptism.
“You Can’t be Serious” is a thriller involving criminals, Marcus, Duncan, and Arturo as they are pulled over on a rural highway by a county deputy.
“The Regency” is a contemporary drama which has Elise, a stern motel manager, battling the negligence of an elderly guest, Mr. Walter who has outstayed his welcome.
“Duncan in the Storm” is a suspense thriller following Duncan, an amnesiac man who is abducted in the back of a police cruiser by a not-what-he-seems police officer.
